Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure and an honor to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID), to be held December 15-17, 2017 at the Kochi City Culture Plaza 'Culport' in Kochi, Japan. The theme of the 2017 JSID Meeting 'We've Got Science Under Your Skin' is of course derived from a jazz title 'I've Got You Under My Skin' sung by Frank Sinatra, so that we can tightly embrace Science with the Meeting.

The fields of skin biology are boundless and continue to make great strides in providing both a comprehensive understanding of the basic mechanisms underlying genetic dermatoses as well as those caused by skin and other system interations, and applying the knowledge to the development of effective therapies. The JSID annual meeting has a robust mission in providing the ideal forum to stimulate ideas and establishing world-wide collaborations as well as to initiate intense discussions. Extended networking opportunities will foster communications between delegates. We are providing you with special symposia; Psoriasis Symposium, Epidermolysis Bullosa Symposium and Frontiers Symposium, in which the presentations of state of the art skin biology will be presented by non-dermatologist Japanese scientists. Also, immunologists and biologists of world-wide fame will give keynote topics of their fields in the Invited Lectures. We are proud to have the JSID-Asia-Oceania Forum (JAOF), in which the plenary talks on lymphocyte/lymphoma will be given by the leading scientists and reserchers from Taiwan, China, Korea and Australia, entitled 'The Asia-Oceania Cutaneous Lymphoma Research'. The subtitle of this forum is named 'Get Together with Asian Power', so that we Asian dermatologists should make a progress together in research for Asian prevailing lymphomas, such as ATL and EBV-related lymphomas. In addition, there will be selected talks from the abstracts and a number of one-minute talks, which will give all the investigators that submit abstracts an opportunity to present their data together with the poster presentations. Thanks to sponsoring companies, we will have seminars presented by a number of reserchers, while taking free breakfast, lunch or snacks, providing opportunities to share the leading knowleges and discussions.

Kochi is an exceptional location, different from famous Japanese cities like Tokyo or Kyoto. It is renowned as one of historical cities at the Meiji Restoration and as Ryoma Sakamoto, a hero who contributed to the revolution from old Edo period to the modern Japan. Also, Kochi is famous for the sparkling Pacific Ocean and towering Shikoku Mountains, and full of subtropical mood of relaxation.

The social program highlighting our Pacific Ocean cuisine like fish, sushi and jazz music combined with breathtaking natural beauty such as the limpid stream of Shimanto River, the most prestigous river in Japan, will underscore the role of Kochi as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan.

The JSID Meeting will strive to offer plenty of networking opportunities, providing you with the opportunity to meet and interact with the leading scientists and reserchers, friends and colleagues as well as sponsors and exhibitors.

Please mark in your calendars the dates of the 42nd Annual Meeting of the JSID, December 15-17, 2017, so that you may join your colleagues in what we hope will be a fantastic meeting.

Sincerely,
